This cover is so magical to me. The leading between the text is a little tight for my tastes, but the paper illustration is what captivates me most. It’s all made from carefully lit and colored construction paper. Would’ve loved to have been there for the photo shoot.

After doing a bit of research, I think the bird featured here could be a Fenghuang—a mythological bird kind of like a phoenix, but basically the head god of all birds. It could easily be the similar-looking Vermillion Bird; or as my friend James suggested, the artist may have just gone, “yo I’m gonna put a sweet bird in this gap here.”
I dunno. Arts/Birds experts, help me out here.
